Our Story

Alon and Araw Club is a SEC-registered non-profit organization that conducts activities focused on empowering the local community to be at the forefront of protecting the ocean. This is done by encouraging and incentivizing community members to participate in our recycling programs and beach cleanups which helps keep trash away from the coasts of Cabangan, Zambales and out of our oceans.

The story of Alon and Araw Club began in 2020 when its founders, Donn and Gabi, first moved to Cabangan and discovered a hidden surf spot within a beautiful beach. Unfortunately, its' shores were constantly being littered with plastic washed up by the waves or left behind by visitors.

It wasn't long before Donn and Gabi thought of a way to tackle the trash problem on the beach. They launched a simple surfboard exchange program which would allow the local kids to have free surf lessons and rentals if they participated in weekly beach cleanups. As the number of local kids grew, Donn and Gabi were inspired to formalize the program, hence the founding of Alon and Araw Club in March 2021.

Alon and araw aims to go beyond surfing and make waves of opportunities for the community to thrive.
